Monroe Gunn turns One!!!

My baby is one! I can not believe it! What a year it has been!!! I think Monroe and I would both have to agree that this was the best year of our lives! Baby Monzie's too! :) (The one and only....so it has to be!) He's the coolest kid ever! We love him! We had a little 'Finding Nemo' birthday party. It was soo fun! We had such a great turn out with all of our family and friends! My family was in town for the 4th of July and even Uncle Tyler came and surprised us! That was so great! Good Times!!!!!!

This is where I got really creative... :) I made all the different "under the sea" and turtle chocolate molds to put on top of the cupcakes...If any one wants any I still have a ton in my freezer. :)

LONG BOAT KEY, FLORIDA!!!!

HOME A WEEK AND WE WERE OFF TO FLORIDA!
We had fun in Florida! We were on the Caribbean side and the water was so warm and shallow so it was perfect for baby Monroe! He loved it! He wasn't afraid of the ocean like he was in Cancun!
So ya...the beach was our favorite part of the trip.
My second favorite was the room! We stayed in a "suite" but it was SUITE because it had a full kitchen with a dishwasher and microwave etc. . so that is so perfect when you have a baby! It made it so much easier! The room even had a washer and dryer! I thought that was pretty neat....ok....I am realizing I am not a girl any more...I am a MOM...I feel old...like Jeff Foxworthy would say.. "If you get excited about doing dishes and your laundry on vacation...you're definitely a mom!" Or however he says it.
My third favorite was the homemade ice cream shop! Toasted coconut ice cream!!!MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

LAKE POWELL

The day after we got back from Arizona we drove down to Lake Powell. It was a good trip. As you can see Baby Monz loved driving the boat! I think he really did get sea sick! He wasn't feeling too good most of the trip and now that we are home he is fine! He is such a little trooper!

Trip to Az to see Uncle TyTy!

Uncle Tyler was home visiting from Bermuda so we had to go home to see him! It was so good to spend time with him! We love him too much! :)

Monroe is becoming quite the little traveler! We were only home from Cancun 3 days before we got on another plane to Az!!! Monz will have been more places before his 1st birthday, then I think I had been when I graduated from collage!

Monroe found a new little friend at grandma's house...

VIVA LA CANCUN!!

We had a fun in Cancun! It was fun to bring baby Monz and see him enjoy soo many new things! He loved being in the pool...but he was a little scared of the ocean!




We went to Chitzan-Itza (or how ever you spell it?!) AGAIN! Unlike 2 years ago when Monroe and I drove down by ourselves and missed the toll road back...ya that time it took us 4 hours of driving through back roads of little old towns with huge speed bumps and featherless chickens and crazy dog filled streets with drunk people walking right out in front of us. The time when we would finally see a sign and it would point in three different directions and each way would say Cancun... No not like that time... This time we were sure to find the toll road back...

THIS TIME WE JUST GOT PULLED OVER BY THE POLICIA TWICE IN ONE DAY!!!

Ya...Monroe was driving and I'll spare you all the scary details!!! The same song and dance each time. They pulled us over for no reason, took Monroes license, made him get out of the car, etc., etc., wouldn't let us go until Monroe gave them a $20. We just could not believe it happened twice in one day!!!

On our way home we stopped by this Cenote. It was so cool! Monroe and I swam in it!


I think baby Monz's favorite part of this trip was trying all the many new foods we gave him! :) His diet up to this point was straight milk and baby food. No treats ever!!! But as you can see he got to try all sorts of stuff!








One day we went to XELHA. We really enjoyed that! It's obvious Monroe did not enjoy his life jacket! :)





It was a great trip! I was so happy to have my parents there with us!

Happy Mother's Day!

I love being a mother and it was fun to celebrate my 1st mother's day. We went to my brother-in-law Nate's ward because my amazing father-in-law was speaking. It is always fun to hear him speak. The Judge just has a way with words. :) Then we got to spend time with Monroes sweet mother. I love her to death! She is truly an angel!

BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!!!

Oh it feels sooo good to turn 29!!! Every year on our birthdays my dad would ask us "Oh how does it feel to be 9?" "How does it feel to be 19??" Let me tell you...I always felt the exact same...but this birthday I could actually, physically feel myself getting older! No lie! I love it though. For I may be older, but oh so wiser! So I got to do my favorite thing over and over and over on my birthday!! What is that you ask??? Well...EAT of course! I have always had the ability to turn my birthDAY into a birthWEEK. I do it almost every year I think it is starting to drive my husband crazy! But this year wasn't too bad because he was out of town on my birthday! :( He did surprise me and caught an earlier flight and got home late at night on my birthday, flowers in hand! He is the best husband ever! So ANYWAYS..back to ME! ;) I had to fill all my alone time with fun filled birthday adventures!
So why not go to ALL of my favorite restaurants?!?!
It all started Thursday night May 1st - the day before my 'actual' birthday. My wonderful friend Emily came to visit me from Arizona! She is the best! We hung out and she took me out to Outback! It was just the two of us and our sweet little babies! :)
Then..May 2nd...My dad was in town from Arizona also. So we had a lunch date with my brother Austin and went to eat at the Chef's Table. YUMMY! It was scrumtralecent!! That was the beginning of the party, and the party ended that night when my wonderful friends Courtney and Sangvane took my out to the Bombay House!

Saturday my wonderful husband took me up to Salt Lake to go eat at Flemings! This was our first long outing without baby Monz! Austins sweet girlfriend Natalie watched him for us so we could enjoy our evening of steak together. :)
The end...JUST KIDDING! this is the post that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friends!! you are still my friends??? :)
The next week my dear friend Kylee took me out to Cheesecake Factory!!!!! Yes! Can you believe it!?!? I hit every single one of my favorite restaurants!!! I know! I amaze myself sometimes! :)
